To improve business skills, don't need to learn everything there is to know - master fundamentals, "mental models" - together they create a solid framework you can rely on to make good decisions - mental models are concepts representing our understanding how things or world works - example driving car, right pedal reacts falsely as brake - model accuracy determines expectations, decisions, behavior, in the long run all results - brain forms models by experiences - often not accurate, you are as one person limited - education makes models more accurate, by internalizing knowledge and experiences from other peoples lives - helps seeing world in new, more productive way - example: many people believe starting business risky, must create business plan, borrow money, business about who you know, not what you know - these exampl. not accurate - correcting models makes you think in more comprehensive way, helps making better decisions
